Monks are respected as the third of the Three Jewels of Buddhism because they dedicate their lives in service of the Dharma by living as example, guiding, teaching and leading us laypersons on the spiritual path. Furthermore, as objects of our faith, respect and offerings, they allow us to accumulate great merit towards freedom from suffering and enlightenment.
Therefore, by sponsoring the related projects in Kathmandu, Nepal, we will ensure that the authentic light of Buddhadharma will continue to shine far into the future. Your good wishes, prayers & participation at any level of commitment will directly & indirectly bring the Buddhadharma to all sentient beings & provide the opportunity to perfect our bodhicitta or altruistic mind of enlightenment.
For example, the Vajravarahi School project seeks to provide school facilities for the little monks who will be educated with government recognised syllabus as well as the monastic training required for monks. In the event the children opt not to become monks in the future, they will have some means to survive within the working community outside of the monastic tradition. |
